Everyone is celebrating Halloween this year it seems and we have been trying to report on as much of it as we can. There have been numerous sales going on the past week which end after today, plenty of games getting Halloween themed updates and straight up Halloween appropriate game releases like last night's Zombie Driver THD. So it's our turn to join in the celebration and so we are giving away two Nexus 7 tablets, the 16GB models.

The creators of the classic first-person adventure game called Shadowgate have gone over to Kickstarter to bring a new re-imagined and revamped version out to the world and this new version will be made available on a variety of platforms including Android tablets. This inclusion of Android tablets as one of the supported platforms isn't a stretch goal either, which is something that happens with a decent amount of these Kickstarter project. Instead, it will be released onto Android tablets when the game launches.

I’ve been using the Acer Iconia Tab A510 as my primary Android device ever since I sold my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 back in May, and there was no bigger frustration than coming to know that my device was basically unsupported by Gameloft. Up until a few hours ago, only a handful (and by a handful I mean six) games were supported. I can’t recall all six, but Let’s Golf HD, Men in Black and the two latest games in the Asphalt series were among four of the supported games.

One game we are eagerly awaiting release and had recently launched beta sign-ups is for Spicy Horse Games' upcoming multiplayer action-RPG title called Akaneiro: Demon Hunter. As a short recap for those of you who have missed our previous coverage, in this game you will be playing as a member of an elite society of demon hunters called The Order of Akane. You mission will be to set out and cleanse a village of Yokai in a world set in the Edo period of Japan, inspired by ancient demons, with hand-painted visuals.

Archos announced back near the end of August that they had been developing a gaming centric Android tablet which would inadvertently be in direct competition with Wikipad's upcoming gaming tablet offering. The Archos GamePad has now gotten a hands-on fondling by the folks at ARMdevices.net, giving us a pretty good view of the upcoming 7" gaming themed tablet.

For those of you out there who are fans of HTC and were hoping that there would be future tablets coming to the market here in the U.S. for you to buy, HTC has announced some bad news for you. According to the online communications manager for HTC, Jeff Gordon, the company will be pulling out of the tablet market in the U.S. which means no more HTC tablets here.

Way back near the end of last year, we talked about a Facebook FPS game from Cmune which would eventually be making its way to Android and iOS devices as well. Their game, called UberStrike, is a rather popular FPS game where players battle it out against each other across various maps, your typical multiplayer FPS game in theme.

Minecraft has invaded yet another platform, once again in the mobile landscape of things as now Minecraft: Pocket Edition is available through the Amazon AppStore for those of you who own a Kindle Fire or one of the new Kindle Fire HD tablets. No more needing to root and side-load the game onto your Kindle Fire and hoping that it works out.

While a lot of the major labels in the gaming industry have already solidified their place, at least to some extent, in the mobile gaming scene, Activision Blizzard are pretty late to the game in terms of releases. However, with the formation of their new division, Activision Mobile, they are now ready to focus more on mobile gaming and, interestingly enough, when it comes to Android it will be with the Kindle Fire HD tablets.

Last week Amazon unveiled a whole new line-up of tablets that are the second generation of the Kindle Fire and along with their announcement, Amazon said that two of the tablets would begin shipping out today. The new Kindle Fire HD line was actually fairly big, coming with a variety of models depending on what you wanted, whether it is a smaller 7" tablet, a bigger 8.9" WiFi version or even an 4G/LTE edition of the 8.9" tablet. Well for those of you who pre-ordered the 7" variety of the Kindle Fire HD, those units begin shipping out today.
