A survey that was just conducted has come up with some interesting results which point to Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet as being the most popular tablet to play Android games on. While it wasn't the biggest survey on the planet with only 1,117 people taking it, the results are still pretty interesting considering the Kindle Fire came out on top as the most used for mobile gaming on tablets.
Shadowrun Returns hasn't been out all that long and already the first expansion for the game has been announced. This expansion will be called Dragonfall and Harebrained Schemes is already hard at work developing it for a 2014 release time frame. This won't be a small expansion with a little bit of extra content either. Instead it will be a full-length one with a whole new campaign set in the Free City of Berlin.
Back near the end of September we reported on the rather popular farming simulation franchise Farm Simulator and that the newest installment into the series would also be making an appearance on mobile devices when it is released next month. When we first reported on this game coming to Android, we didn't know any sort of exact release date but today the official launch date for Farm Simulator 14 has been announced.
When Blizzard announced their new game, which ended up being a TCG called Hearthstone, it was also announced for iOS gamers to play on the iPad. However other mobile platforms were left behind like our beloved Android platform. New evidence is pointing towards the possibility that an Android and Windows Phone version of Hearthstone could be arriving soon.
In more Clash of Clans developer Supercell news, the company has announced today that it has sold 51% of the company to SoftBank and GungHo Entertainment for the ridiculous amount of $1.5 billion making this one of the biggest mobile game studio purchases to date. It isn't like either company didn't have the money to spare, especially after GungHo Entertainment's release of Puzzle and Dragons which makes them a staggering amount of money by itself.
Like we briefly mentioned in our last post a few moments ago, Archos has made the GamePad 2 an official thing now which is about time since we got to play with an early prototype at CES 2013 and it was also basically outted thanks to an FCC filing back in August of this year. So what can you expect in terms of hardware for their second gen gaming tablet?
Usually we end up seeing a Gameloft title appearing on the occasional Android device when a new one hits store shelves. This also is usually a demo version most of the time. However that will be changing with the upcoming GamePad 2 from Archos as Gameloft will have two full free games pre-installed onto the upcomin gaming centric tablet.
One game a lot of people have been waiting for since it was announced is the official mobile version of Transport Tycoon. Nvidia today finally unveiled their Tegra Note which is a reference device that shows off their Tegra 4 platform. What this does is allow manufacturers to offer the Tegra 4 platform to create 7" tablets for as little as $200. Basically this means manufacturers can use this tablet as a starting point, enabling them to quickly bring their own branded 7" tablet to market much more quickly by using this one as the base model.
The world of MOBA games looks to continue its advancement into the mobile gaming scene as a new title is currently under development called Fates Forever. Currently we have a couple of titles in this genre already available to us. One is from Gameloft called Heroes of Order and Chaos while another is a bit different of a style of MOBA gaming called Champs: Battlegrounds.
