Yes, even after a week of posting since GDC 2011 ended, we still have news we are posting although we are nearing the end of everything we need to post from GDC. There are a few Tegra 2 games on the horizon that haven't really been mentioned yet that we spotted lazing around on some demo devices.

You may or may not have heard about Nexon before although we are thinking you have in some fashion. They have developed a lot of hugely popular browser-based games such as Kartrider Rush and Maple Story. Nexon was also the first company to create the Freemium business model and integrate it into their games.

About a week and a half ago, just before the start of GDC 2011, we posted about a game called Desert Winds by Southend Interactive which was being demoed on the upcoming Qualcomm chipset featuring the new Adreno 220 GPU. This game looks like a mesh between Prince of Persia and Tomb Raider with awesome graphics.

While we naturally report on all things relating to Android games and gaming, we did get to meet up with some other companies such as 2KGames and Capcom to check out their newest releases (plus we did say we would report on other stuff from GDC). So taking a break from Android for one post, here are some great games we checked out.

Let us start off by saying, if you are a fan of trains in any sort of way either with trains sets or just watching trains, you'll pretty much wet yourself when you see this upcoming game for Android. Properly called Trainz, developed by n3v games, this is a hardcore realistic train simulation game with a ton of goodies at your disposal.

We got to sit down with a few developers from Australia and even though they are mostly iOS developers, they are planning to bring their games to Android as well. One such developer is Tin Man Games which produces the series called Gamebook Adventures. These are a 'choose your own adventure' type of game.

Bigpoint, one of the more major browser-based gaming companies out right now, can see the promise in mobile gaming and Android as well. They are planning to bring as many of their titles to Android in the near future which is great if you've ever played a Bigpoint game. All of their games are MMOs and generally high quality 3D graphics.

As you may have expected, the Xperia Play was all over the place at GDC 2011 and we had plenty of time to play lots of games on them. While most games being played are already out for Android devices, some are not, such as the Bruce Lee game. There was also a lot of news about the Xperia Play and also a lot of news missing.

nVidia has been hitting the mobile multi-core scene pretty hard lately with Tegra 2 coming out in a fair amount of devices already and the announcement of the Tegra 3 quad-core chip at Mobile World Congress this year. After showing off a working unit at MWC 2011, we were hoping there would be one at GDC 2011 and there was!

While not literally cracking the camera on the phone we were using, Qualcomm's recent AR developer challenge brought in some great games with the winner being a game called Paparazzi. In this game you are the paparazzi and your job is to make money getting the best picture you can of the character that appears.
