So our little gaming tournament was supposed to start July 1st but due to the holidays that weekend we decided to delay it. Since then we have had even more interest in AGC (a.k.a Android Gaming Challenge) which is always nice. In fact, there is so much interest that we have modified the layout.
Our future plans for AGC have always been to expand it until it becomes the premier mobile gaming tournament, at least for Android that is. We want to hold three of these a year with a forth at the end of each year that will be a live championship event here in Las Vegas. Well we are happy to announce that we will start working towards that goal with this AGC. Due to the high interest in this event from gamers to sponsors, we will be holding two AGC's this year.
Today we will start the first one which we have modified the format a little since we will be having a second one this year. AGC#2 will be an endurance gaming format while the next one will be an action gaming format. This also means you will have more chances to come in first place and win prizes! Each AGC will have it's own set of prizes for their respective set of winners of course.
So with that said, let's get down to the details of this AGC. Contestants will be playing one game this AGC over the course of 5 days. Each day scores will be reset and players in the Top 5 spots will earn points: 1st = 5pts, 2nd = 4pts, 3rd = 3pts, 4th = 2pts, and 5th = 1pt. At the end of the five days, the players with the top five points will be our winners. In the event of any ties, those players will duke it out in one round sudden death that will last 24 hours as well. The top score from the sudden death round will claim the spot being tied for while the other player will get the spot below.
AGC#2 will start today at 2pm PST and the scores will be reset each day at 2pm PST as well. The rules are pretty simple, be respectful although we don't mind a little friendly competitive crap talk, don't cheat (we will know), and have fun! If you haven't signed up, sign-ups close today at Noon PST! You can sign up here. Registration is now closed. So what are the prizes?
1st Place
2nd Place
3rd Place
4th Place
5th Place
We may end up adding a couple more prizes to the list but as it stands right now, these are the prize packages for the Top 5 winners. As a bonus, if anyone competing owns a Nintendo 3DS, let us know in the comments below and you will be entered to win a copy of the Cartoon Network's awesome multiplayer brawler game Punch Time Explosion which features your favorite Cartoon Network Characters! You must leave a comment below to be entered though!
We will announce what the game is and the download link to it when the competition starts at 2pm PST today! Good luck! Please thank our sponsors which include Spacetime Studios, nVidia, Lookout Mobile Security, OrangePixel, Perfect World Entertainment, and Envisions! You can find out more about any of our sponsors on the official AGC#2 sponsors page which will be up shortly.
